GeoPath
GeoPath is a collection of Geocaches grouped to form a special project.
General Information
A GeoPath must contain a minimum of 5 caches to be published. The user who publishes a GeoPath is called it's founder. Other users (co-founders) may later add caches to an existing Geopath.
When a geocacher finds a cache and logs it as "Found", it is also automatically marked as "Found" in the GeoPath. Once the user has found all geocaches in a GeoPath, i.e. has completed the GeoPath, he/she may log the GeoPath as "Completed".
GeoPath types
- Geo-sketch - caches form a shape on the map (star, letter, etc)
- Touristic - caches near tourist attractions: monuments, scenic viewpoints, etc.
- Nature - caches placed in nature
- Thematic - series of caches all dedicated to a specific theme (e.g. castles, abandoned railway, etc)
Location
GeoPath module is available from the main menu (left side of the page).
Display Options
The GeoPath main page shows all existing GeoPaths both as a list and on the map. Additionally you can adjust display options such as the types of GeoPaths to display and several filtering and sorting options. By default, the map shows the entire country.
- Display selected GeoPath type - can display all or only a specific type of GeoPaths.
- Sort by - Sort the various parameters
- Sort direction - ascending or descending
- Hide gained - this option hides gained GeoŚcieżki
- Hide my own - hide your own GeoPaths from the list
- Hide miniGePaths - hides Geopaths with less then 25 caches
Click on a GeoPath name to show it's caches (as map and list), parameters and description. On the right side of the map there is a button that will display these caches on the full screen Map v3.
GeoPaths list
GeoPaths listed here are shown in a table that contains the following information:
- Name - name of the GeoPath
- Type - type of GeoPath (see above)
- Scoring - the maximum points available for that Geopath
- Publication date - when the GeoPath was published
- Number of caches - is the number of mailboxes in the framework of the project (this is not a minimum number of boxes required to pass the draft)
- Completed - how many geocachers completed the GeoPath (i.e. found all the caches)
Categories
The system applies a simple rule according to the number of caches in a Geopath.
- GeoPath - a project consisting of 25 or more caches
- MiniGeoPath - a project consisting of containing from 5 to 24 boxes
Creating a GeoPath
GeoPath founders (owners)
A GeoPath project can be created by experienced users, thus a user must have at least 500 finds (of any type) to create a GeoPath. Once a GeoPath exists, any user, regardless of the number of finds to his record, may add caches to that GeoPath. If your found count hasn't reached 500 but you have a great idea for a Geopath, you may ask a fellow geocacher with more then 500 finds for help and set up the GeoPath together.
These limits may change in the future, depending on how Opencaching and GeoPaths evolve.
The user who creates the GeoPath has the ability to add (or remove) other users as co-founders of the GeoPath. After this, each co-founder has the same rights on the GeoPath and allows them to work together on it.
Create a new GeoPath
- Click "GeoPaths" on the left menu. All visible GeoPaths will be shown.
- Click "Create a new GeoPath" on the top menu-bar.
- Fill 'Name GeoPath' a good name for this new GeoPath.
- Under 'Type GeoPath' the kind GeoPath to be made.
- Under 'Visibility' GeoPath whether it should be visible or not. When not yet visible gives the possibility to complete this GeoPath at a later time.
- In the '% required to complete this GeoPath' can be indicated as a percentage how many caches of a GeoPath must be logged before you can log on and complete this GeoPath.
- Make a nice definition to 'Description of GeoPath' in this comprehensive editor. Different types and colors of letters can be used, add images, create tables. Let your imagination run free to make a nice description.
- When everything is completed, click on 'Save new GeoPath on' '. Now everything is stored and the data base ready for this GeoPath and return to the main screen GeoPath.
=== === Attaching GeoŚcieżki
New GeoŚcieżkę can set up any user who has scored 500 found boxes of any type. In contrast, co-founder can be any user. So if you have not found the 500 mailboxes, and you have an idea to create a new GeoŚcieżki, just find the idea of another user who has found 500 boxes. You will be able to set up GeoŚcieżkę together or it will be a mentor GeoŚcieżki and when he assumes it - you can take GeoŚcieżkę. (Nick mentor will always figured in GeoŚcieżce, as a person firmująca GeoŚcieżkę, but the founder will you and others through you indicated, if they choose.)
Values given here may be modified in the future, depending on the direction in which to evolve GeoŚcieżki established.
GeoŚcieżka status 'For the time being invisible' is displayed on the map and list GeoŚcieżek. only the founders have access to it by a panel of 'Your GeoŚcieżki'

In addition to the basic description GeoŚcieżki should contain all the information necessary for its gain (eg, a list of necessary equipment, tools), as well as practical information (eg. Adding and deleting mailboxes within GeoŚcieżki
The recommended method is to publish complete GeoŚcieżek, so that there was no need to add / delete mailboxes after publication GeoŚcieżki.
Adding mailboxes of other users
Purpose of functionality: Adding mailboxes of other users, not owning GeoŚcieżki.
Example: If someone founded GeoŚcieżkę numbering 100 mailboxes, and after some time another user box-founded complement GeoŚcieżki, owner GeoŚcieżki can attach the box to GeoŚcieżki using the "Add any case." Enter the waypoint box (eg. OP0001)
If GeoŚcieżka is assumed together with other users must first add all the founders, and then each founder can add your own mailbox to GeoŚcieżki using the "cache <=> GeoŚcieżki"
=== === Deleting mailboxes
Boxes can be freely removed from GeoŚcieżki only until GeoŚcieżka is first acquired. After that, there is no possibility of removing the box from GeoŚcieżki. If necessary, remove the box from GeoŚcieżki - box should be backed up. Justified cases (various unforeseen circumstances) decide COG. COG has the privilege of removing boxes from GeoŚcieżki, but the recommended method is to archiving.
The required number of boxes or "WIS"
This is the percentage of boxes required to pass GeoŚcieżki. It should be remembered that one of the boxes GeoŚcieżki may be lost or is hidden in a very difficult and not everyone conquering will be able to find it, so it is suggested to set this parameter to 100%. Founded GeoŚcieżkę should think carefully about how much boxes should be required. WIS minimum level required by the COG is 67%.
Founder GeoŚcieżki should maintain WIS at a level sufficient to gain GeoŚcieżki. Number of boxes required to gain GeoŚcieżki can not be greater than the number of active mailboxes on the GeoŚcieżce. When WIS does not fulfill this condition must change its status to "in service", WIS reduce or reconstitute box forming GeoŚcieżkę.

FAQ
'Q:' If you can add one box for two different GeoŚcieżek?
The answer: You can not. Such a function rather never will. You just have to decide to whom to assign GeoŚcieżki box.
'Q:' Counting center GeoŚcieżki - something is wrong, Deleting / I add a box, and each time the center is calculated elsewhere. Why?
