Opencaching has a feature whereby a cache owner may optionally elect to require a password before a "Found it" log is accepted by the system.

In the case of a Traditional, Multicache or Quiz type this would typically be written on the front of the log book.

The feature is particularly appropriate for Virtual caches, where the password can be a short word that appears on or near the item of interest, and which is not available using a web search engine. This avoids the need for a finder to email the cache owner with answers before logging the cache.

If you wish to use a log password, please create it at the same time as you create the cache page.
