I really like Jamaica and I've developed a serious passion for the food. I was there recently at the invitation of Sandals to present the local food awards in Kingston, so it was a great opportunity to rediscover eating places I had enjoyed on previous trips and meet some up-and-coming chefs. When I go to Jamaica, I love the simple jerk shacks, and buying fish from the friendly locals. This time I made sure I sampled all the traditional favourites: curried goat, jerk chicken, peas and rice. But what I always enjoy is the fish. On the island they tend to over-intensify the flavour of the fish, but it's still utterly delicious.

One of my favourite places is Scotchies in Montego Bay, a collection of little tiki huts in beautiful gardens, where I had a bottle of Red Stripe and some jerk chicken and it was one of the best experiences. Enjoying Jamaican food is part of discovering the island. Wherever I travel I want to eat what the local people are eating - the street food. For breakfast at a jerk shack I have peanut porridge. I also love the ackee and saltfish, the national dish. At Fisherman's Beach in Ocho Rios I have their fried fish, at Negril the peppered shrimps. And their patties are delicious - the chicken ones especially. Share I like hanging out with the locals and watch them chop the heads off coconuts. On Fisherman's Beach I roll my jeans up and help the boys drag their boats up out of the water.

Food is part of who the Jamaicans are. It works in their environment, though I'm not sure you could present it in a London restaurant. I see a special kind of spirituality in the food - sophisticated, but humble and intelligent. I hate the snobbery of food, particularly food that's overworked. What Jamaican cuisine has in its favour is the quality of local ingredients, the fantastic fish, great lobster, avocados bigger than you have ever seen, delicious mangoes and wonderful coconuts. The Caribbean is magical and Jamaica brings out the best in me. My children also love it there, especially the Sandals Beaches resorts (there are three on Jamaica) which offer the fun and freedom they want from a great holiday. There are so many sides to Jamaica. There's Bob Marley and reggae, then you can visit Noel Coward's old home Firefly which is delightful. Seven nights at Sandals Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, on a Luxury Included basis costs from £1,599pp, including return flights and resort transfers.

And Wynwood closes at 3! Y’all I hate Wynwood. Every bar and restaurant there is a carbon copy of each other with a shitty little backyard patio. Nothing in that neighborhood is original anymore. It’s the worse. My lame ass friends always wanna go there too ugh. If you’re a tourist reading this though you’ll probably like it. Locals are too used to that area. I agree with you! The restauranteurs/developers have realized that the "hole in a wall" vibe works and it's just rinse and repeat. I have a recommendation that recently opened up in Little Haiti, called the Citadel, if you are a Miamian. It's weird hodge-posh development that hosts a somewhat ritzy food hall that has different cuisine, like afro, asian and french. If you're really big into the food hall vibe, there's another in the Miami Design District called, St. Roch's Market. I have gone to the Citadel and I am a massive fan of Manjay stand. It has haitian/afro caribbean cuisine and it's delightful.

I also think at that age you can still do yogurt/applesauce pouches - I bought refillable ones from amazon. They hold more and are great. I fill them with applesauce and yogurt and add in anything to switch the flavors up (like pureed frozen fruit). I am trying to think outside of the box. I used to do these wraps with caesar dressing, lettuce, chicken, in a jalapeno tortilla - that jalapeno flour tortilla was sooo good!youtube.com Also, maybe you can do cold egg rolls (just bake or fry ahead for crispiness), and spring rolls if they don't mind the chewier texture. Jamaican patties - both have meat and veggie variations. I also LOVE cold mandu and chinese dumplings.youtube.com Maybe even some California rolls or kimbap, depending on what fillings they'll enjoy. I don't like seaweed, so if you need a wrapper they have plain soy wraps if kids don't like seaweed either.

India is a culturally diverse country with its history going back 4,500 years. The country has many languages and multiple ethnic groups. Home to Taj Mahal, the Asian country is a cultural cornerstone. India has a culture that is made exuberant by literature, music and cinema. Though the country's capital is Delhi, the cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad ought to be named major cities.youtube.com When talking about India, the iconic architectural brilliance, the Taj Mahal cannot be overlooked which is located in Agra. The symbol of love is visited by millions from all over the world. And another prominent geographical wonder is the world's tallest mountain "Everest".

Arranged marriages are still quite common and Indians are a domesticated race and place high importance on family values. They can be seen wearing traditional clothing such as sarees, shalwar, dhotis as much as they wear western clothing. Given the diversity of culture, religions and geographical differences, India has the most varied cuisine, different from region to region. It has different qualities when compared to other cuisines in the world though it has been greatly influenced by other civilizations.youtube.com Indian cuisine is known for its usage of spices. West Indian food, however, is quite different in taste and variety. In Rajasthan and Gujarat, pickles are in wide consumption since fresh vegetables are not easily available. In Maharashtra, the cooking style is quite similar to North Indian cuisine, the main dish is usually rice and the food items made of wheat.
