About Geocaching

Geocaching is an outdoor sport or activity in which geocachers use a GPS receiver to find a "treasure" hidden by other participants. Caches are secured in watertight containers, containing inexpensive trading items and a logbook in which they record their discovery of the cache. The coordinates of the cache locations are stored in online databases such as Opencache.uk, along with the descriptions and instructions necessary to find them.

About Opencache.uk

Opencache.uk was initially set up by Paul Hutchinson, but he has now retired and we are in the process of a major restructuring using the latest Opencaching web site code. The current organisers of Opencache UK are extremely grateful to the Polish and Romanian geocaching community for their indispensable assistance in getting it running. Further details will be available when the process is complete.
